    Strategy for Utilizing Household Organic Waste as Compost Using Fishbone Diagram and SWOT Analysis During Covid-19 Pandemic

    Purpose: To maximize the processing of organic waste into compost that is useful for the surrounding community and to find out the cause of the slow processing of waste in Bambe village. Design/methodology/approach: The   method   used   in   this   research is Fishbone Methods and SWOT Analisys. Findings: The main obstacles to poor organic waste management are the lack of knowledge of Bambe village residents in sorting organic and inorganic waste, unavailability of supporting equipment in managing organic waste into compost, lack of TPS-T places and facilities, inadequate waste processing officers, lack of support from the local government. so that the funding factor from the APBN and the provincial APBD is a problem that can hinder the process of processing organic waste. Research limitations/implications: Can optimize the use of house hold waste in the form of organic waste into compost. Practical implications: The use of house hold waste that can be converted into compost will reduce the amount of existing waste. Originality/value: Socialization of the use of processing and addition of waste processing facilities to residents is very useful for solving existing problems and the local government must be willing to support it in terms of funding so that the waste processing process becomes better.  Paper type: Research pape

    Bengkel Teknik Pemesinan SMK Bubutan Surabaya sebagai tempat melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. SMK Bubutan Surabaya berdiri pada tanggal 19 Agustus 1976 dengan nama yayasan LPPUK (Lembaga Penambah Pendidikan Umum dan Kejuruan). Seiring dengan perkembangan dunia industri yang serba modern, siswa dituntut harus memiliki daya saing yang kompetitif agar bisa menjadi pembuat keputusan. Teknik mesin mengambil peranan penting di dalam dunia industri yang dahulu dikerjakan dengan tangan sekarang digantikan oleh mesin. Masalah yang dihadapi oleh SMK Bubutan Surabaya adalah rendahnya tingkat daya serap siswa terhadap pembelajaran mesin bubut ulir dengan nilai rata-rata 70. Untuk meningkatkan kemampuan daya serap siswa dilakukan model proses pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan terbuka dari segi gagasan, pendapat, dan solusi. Metode pembelajaran yang diterapkan menggunakan Problem Based Learning (PBL) yaitu mengambil permasalahan studi kasus di dunia industri sebagai konteks dan bahan ajar untuk siswa dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir secara kritis serta memperoleh keterampilan dalam pemecahan masalah. Setelah diterapkannya metode PBL, daya serap siswa mengalami peningkatan sebesar 13,2 %. Hal itu ditunjang dengan saling diskusi dengan guru bukan hanya dengan menggunakan metode ceramah. Karena dengan meningkatkan keaktifan siswa, materi yang disampaikan akan mudah diserap dengan melibatkan studi kasus di dunia industri

    Optimization of Implementation of Crane Certification in Contruction Service Companies

    Purpose: This study aims to analyze the effect of accelerating the implementation of work and the costs needed for the job of occupational safety and health certification in the Construction services company in East Java province. Design/methodology/approach: This study used a survey method carried out on 20 crane units in 4 construction service companies by analyzing data using Critical Path Method (CPM), resulting in an acceleration of inspection and testing of crane up to 37% with cost efficiency of  36 %. Findings: The results of this study are expected to provide an overview of Crane's reliability as early as possible to users to anticipate operational failures through regular maintenance and repairs. Research limitations/implications: This study can also determine the timing of inspection and testing in the context of implementing the Crane Occupational Safety and Health certification so that the use of resources can be optimized. Practical implications: With the implementation of inspection and testing, certification can be fulfilled before the certification period ends.
